My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Victoria is a very funny fluff to be rescued by Small Paws because when she came into rescue, her coat was so very matted that everyone thought she was a boy. She is estimated around 4-5 years old. Much to everyone’s surprise when she was being groomed – a little, sweet girl appeared!!! Much to all of our joy, Victor transformed into Victoria – miracles happen every day – especially here at Small Paws Rescue. It is suspected that Victoria may have been a breeder dog. The vet thinks she has had multiple litters. She is still shy and timid but coming along. She came into rescue very thin, but has a huge appetite while she works on gaining weight. Her foster mommy has gotten pajamas for her to wear since it’s so cold in Central Illinois where she is being fostered and until her coat grows back in – she is getting help so stay warm.

Victoria is currently being treated for seizures with medication. She is working with her foster family to become seizure free with medications.

Her last seizure was almost 2 weeks ago. She is on phenobarbital and kepra . She must have someone that is home most of the time and another dog. Stress can bring on a seizure. She is coming along great and loves her foster family and doggy siblings. She must have a fenced in yard:)

Victoria loves to snuggle and has become very attached to her foster mom’s heating blanket at night. She must be on her foster’s lap or nearby but most of all in eyesight. She plays fair with her foster brothers and sisters and is learning to play with toys. She is very quiet and doesn’t like loud noises. Victoria is spayed, heartworm negative and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Victoria will need to be adopted by a family who can be with her the majority of every day and because of her seizure disorder, will not be able to be flown. Victoria has not been around small children so children must be at least 10 years old.

Victoria is being fostered in IL
