Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nate is great! 5lbs, 12oz of fuzzy chihuahua (possible chihuahua X teddybear mix :) Nate is 3 years old, housebroken, loves other little dogs and sends a warning growl at bigger dogs who invade his personal space, but doesn't snap or get aggressive.
Someone was really mean to Nate. A man probably hurt him regularly. He's somewhat fearful and distrusting of men.
When Nate isn't sure what you're doing to do, if your hands reach for him, he starts to scream like he's being badly hurt. After a day or so he will learn that you aren't going to hurt him and he stops the drama. Nate's foster is working hard at regular introductions to new people to help build his confidence and learn that not all people will hurt him. A little patience and understanding that he's had a rough start is all he needs to be the perfect companion.
Nate loves a lap (he's sort of a lap hog actually), he's very food motivated and enjoys plain oatmeal. He sleeps well in the bed or in a crate, walks fine on a leash and gives lots of kisses.
Won't you adopt wee Nate?
