Janus's Story...
N/M, 7-8 Months, Heeler Mix, Approx. 35 lbs.

Hello there! I am the New Year Miracle Boy. I survived a couple months of extremely cold weather on the streets and alleys of a tough Denver neighborhood. Once I noticed a nice lady feeding the stray cats. Then she began to leave food for me too. Initially I was scared to get close to her. However, on New Year's Day I was so cold that I could not stop shivering. I decided to follow the food lady to her car. She hugged me, lifted me in and took me took Maxfund. Now I am safe and warm. I even went for my first leash walk with a shelter volunteer. It was a little scary, but also kind of fun. I like it when calm and gentle people pet me. Maybe soon I will have a real home again. I would really like that. I have shown all the great folks here at MaxFund that I'm an EXTREMELY loving boy who is more than ready for my forever home! I'm so affectionate, and so very grateful for my second "leash" on life! Come meet me; I'm one in a million.

Update! My brother Luka was finally captured and brought to safety as well! We are so happy to be together again! Read all about him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Janus, a Denver Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler for sale in Denver, or seeking a Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler breeders who help with Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
