My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucy! She is about 8 yrs old and weighs just over 5 lbs- just a little peanut. We rescued Lucy from a local high kill shelter where she had been abandoned in a cardboard box. Who could do that to their beloved pet? She is currently living in a foster home with several other dogs and she gets along with all. She doesn't really interact with them, but is happy to coexist. She has never once barked or even really cried so she would do well in an apartment/condo type situation. She is pretty well potty pad trained and will also go outside. She isn't much for walks and requires minimal exercise. Her favorite activities are napping and eating. Lucy was once a very obese little lady, but we monitored her food intake and is now back to her ideal weight.

Lucy will need a special home to care for her as she suffers from seizures and hypothyroidism. We just started her on the thyroid meds, so we are hoping that once she is stabilized on that her seizures will dissipate. She will need to be kept on the medication and will need routine blood tests to monitor her health. Her potential owners will need to understand the financial responsibility this will entail and commit to continuing this level of care. She is currently eating a raw diet (Stella and Chewy's) and it was recommended that she stay on this to help with seizure control.

Lucy's adoption fee of $150 goes towards the cost of her veterinary care.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the "Adoption Process" tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (as appropriate), dewormed, fecal tested, and microchipped.
