My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finnius is a sweet senior man, who just wants a quiet & calm household to live in and people to love him during the golden years of his life. He has the typical ailments of a senior man who has seen much in his life - he's a bit hard of hearing, doesn't see quite as well, and does have some arthritis, but that doesn't mean his heart has quit loving. In fact, that's just gotten better with age. They just don't get any more snuggly than Finnius. When he is awake, he loves to wander & explore. His nose constantly stays to the ground. His foster mom said he even helped decorate the Christmas tree this year. Finnius sorted out all the best ornaments. ;D

If you are interested in adopting Finnius, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Finnius 's adoption fee is $200. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Finnius will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxies's back.
