My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good With Other Dogs: Yes, with similar temperament
Crate Trained: Yes
Walks Nicely On A Leash: Learning
Knows Basic Commands: Learning
Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate to Low

Arrival story: was swooped up by a concerned citizen while wandering along a busy highway and took her to a shelter. Her owners were aware she was at the shelter, but never came to pick her up, so Waggin Tails took her in to find her a safe, loving forever home.

Approximate age / Weight: 2-3 years old and 55lbs.

Personality: Sadie has not encountered a person she does not like. People are truly her favorite thing! Sadie is a mellow girl who loves to lean into you for pets and snuggles. She wins everyone over with that mellow personality and cute cow spots on her coat! She is house-trained and is good at the vet's office and on car rides. She can be picky about her treats and food but in working with her on leash manners at a busy adoption event Sadie was responding to voice commands for redirection. Good girl, Sadie! She did enjoy her walk outside for sniffs despite the snowy conditions.

Sadie has been around children ages 2 and 8 and done really well. She does not like cats. In fact, in her current foster home she will whine and bark at the resident cat and occasionally will point point. If she were to live with another dog, we are sure that Sadie would prefer another lazy dog like herself. A home with another energetic dog would be too much for her.

Forever home: Sadie is looking for a laid back home where she’ll get lots of human interaction and maybe some couch time.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of
$225 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies -
$125 senior dogs (9 years +)
$275 for small breed dogs
$250 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
