Angel has had a tragic life and she is only 1 year old. She was turned over to us by the family who purchased her as a puppy from PetLand. Their landlord found out they had her and told them they weren't allowed to have 2 dogs so they had to get rid of one. Since she was younger they decided to find her a new home. Angel came to live with us here at MBR and was adopted by a couple who kept her for only a week. Angel wanted to play with their boxer non stop and the boxer wasn't thrilled. They brought her back to the rescue. Angel was then adopted again and this family kept her for 2 months. They brought her back because she "chewed" on wood work. We are not sure why she did this because she never chewed on anything in her foster home. BUT her foster home kept her crated when they weren't home and played with her and gave her a lot of attention then they were home. Angel definitely needs a lot of attention. She is not the type of dog that you can come home from work after a long day and just snuggle on the couch. Angel needs a good long walk, some play time in the back yard with her person and then you can snuggle on the couch!
Angel was AGAIN adopted and this family kept her for a month. They returned her saying she chewed the babies toys.
Angel has been dumped so many times and moved around so much she is very distant when it comes to people. I mean really why care about a person when they just keep dumping you. Every time Angel gets attached to someone they dump her. It will take Angel at least 6 months to become attached to someone. She is house trained IF you make sure she goes outside and potty before going coming back in. Angel is easily distracted so if you let her outside she sometimes forgets to go potty. As long as you make sure she remembers by telling her "go potty" and praising her when she does you will be fine.
Angel would do best in a home with someone who would be able to exercise her body as well as her mind. Going jogging, teaching her tricks, hiking, agility... Angel needs someone who is going to work through her energy level and someone that she can't out smart!
She is a great dog who just hasn't been given a chance.
