Jack Russell Terriers and mixes are very popular and therefore bred indiscriminately...those that no longer serve a monetary purpose are done away with. We feel that Jeremy, about 9 months to 1 year old and approximately 12 lbs, could have fallen into this category and ended up in a high-kill situation. It was his incredible temperament that saved his life! He was recognized for being a lap-dog extraordinaire...so perfect for anyone who enjoys a fuzzy companion as a best friend. He's fun and silly with lots of energy for playful antics. The following is Jeremy's foster mom's report on this gorgeous little guy:
Jeremy is an extremely loving dog! The only thing he seems to care about is giving love and of course playing with me and my doggy herd. I think it is safe to say that Jeremy has passed the exceptional temperament test with my pups and my husband and me with an absolutely perfect score! He gets along perfectly with other dogs....honestly the challenge is that the other guys become jealous because Jeremy just wins your heart in the biggest way possible He seems to love everyone, but he is definitely my lap dog and wants to be my best friend and companion...when it's lunchtime I can count on Jeremy joining me at the table - he sits so respectfully in his own chair. He doesn't beg...he just enjoys the time together. He's also gorgeous! I know it's hard to get a sense in his photo...but he really has the most beautiful, expressive eyes I've ever seen on a dog. His markings are so unique that we get stopped all the time with people commenting on how gorgeous this sweet boy is. Jeremy is 100% perfect with his housetraining skills (he learned the doggie door in 5 minutes...brilliant!) and respectful of my home and belongings. Jeremy loves playing fetch and tug of war with his doggie friends..and loves to get me involved in the fun as well. He's overjoyed going for walks or hikes even though he came to me absolutely clueless around being on a leash. He couldn't figure out what was attached to him..but we're working on it and he's a great learner! He's so good and sweet and desires to please! He loves car rides and is wonderful no matter how many hours I drag him around town. At the end of the day...Jeremy absolutely loves to sleep in my bed with the whole fuzzy gang and doesn't make a move until I get up the next morning. He is a sweetheart and will spend his whole life trying to make his new family happy with his silly antics and very positive outlook on life. Jeremy is a very lightly shedding guy who will require periodic baths/brushing. A haircut every now and then will keep his hair shaped with very little shedding (I must admit I got scissor-happy and cut his adorable whiskers completely off). Jeremy isn't suggested for those with severe allergy concerns.
Jeremy is being fostered in Denver. Applications are being accepted and Meet and Greets are currently being set up for this sweet and loving companion.
