Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This handsome and sweet young man is Butch. Butch is a 2 1/2 year old cattle dog mix that came to us from the south with a very sad story. Butch was a "chain dog" for his entire life. Day in, day out, Butch was chained to a tree, with a broken down dog house for shelter, and nothing but a bowl to play with. He rarely had a decent meal or fresh water, so when his owners up and abandoned the house and left Butch out back, chained to the tree, it may have been a blessing, because that is when the neighbors took action. Butch was saved by a rescue and eventually, brought up to Popcorn Park to start life over. He is remarkably sweet, loving, affectionate, and truly loves people. He gets excited when it's his turn for a walk and tends to jump a little, but once Butch is outside, he is the perfect gentleman. He is smart and well behaved, and is really loving life these days. Butch is heartworm positive, but we are treating him for that and will continue with his treatment should he get adopted. Butch gets along fine with most dogs but is a bit frightened of cats. He would make a wonderful addition to any good family that will promise to love and care about him forever, and never leave him out in the cold again. File#23218 1/5/14
