My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Meet Priest....he is a 2 year old male white miniature schnauzer mix. He is just a little guy and weighs in at only 8 pounds. Fuzzy Pawz was asked to take this sweet little boy when his owner was unable to care for him any longer. When we got Priest he was matted right down to the skin and we know he had never been groomed before.

Priest is a very sweet little dog and wants a forever human so badly! He loves to know where you are at every second of the day and will follow you all over. He loves being a lap dog and would do very well as the only dog in a house that gets all the attention. He does, however, get along with other dogs even though he does try to establish himself as the boss of everyone. Now that he has had a taste of the "good life" he isn't so keen on sharing. He also gets along with cats but likes to chase them for fun so needs to be reminded that is not tolerated. His foster mom is working with him on all of these behaviors.

Priest hasn't been socialized very much and wasn't sure of people petting him all over when we first got him (mostly because it had hurt before with his mats). He cried during his entire first groom and our wonderful and patient groomer, Ellie, took everything slowly and was as careful and loving as possible. For this reason, we would recommend he continue to go to Ellie for his grooming because she would like to continue to work with him so isn't as fearful in the future. He has now learned how wonderful it is to be petted and loved on everywhere and he will lay back and just love every minute of it. More of his sweet spirit is coming out every day as he gets more comfortable and is introduced to new things.

Because of his lack of socialization in the past we would recommend a home with no young children for Priest, as he is still learning and growing emotionally. He would not do well with a small child pulling on him and he does not like to be grabbed quickly or surprised. A quiet home with people who will continue to get him out in the world would be ideal.

Priest likes to sleep next to you in bed and stays curled up against you all night long. He is somewhat house trained but will need to be let outside every so often to be reminded that's where he needs to go potty . Again, the home he came from was pretty unsightly and he had no instruction there, so this is all new for Priest. Priest loves to go for rides in the car and stays in the passenger seat without trying to climb elsewhere.

If you feel you can give Priest a loving home and continue to help this little boy grow and learn with the patience he needs complete an adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

Priest has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

There is a $40 adoption fee plus the reduced cost of his vetting.
