Hi everyone! My name is Bella Ella and I am a 7 yr. old beagle that was rescued from North Carolina. I lived with an older couple that just didn’t want me anymore. In fact, they were going to surrender me to a gassing shelter, which probably would’ve been the end of the road for me, but several people worked together to save me! Penny Angels agreed to take me, and Pilots N Paws pilot, Scott, brought me to New Jersey! What an adventure that was for me!!
Looking back at my life, I don’t think I had the best care in my previous home because my owners allowed my weight to increase to 78 lbs.! I also had sores on my butt from not moving around a lot, but my butt looks so much better now!! I had lots of lab work done when I came to Rescue and everything looks good, so I am just overweight from being OVERFED! I would like to think that I just have some extra curves that add to my beauty, but everyone says that those extra curves are not good for my health. I am currently eating a special diet food and doing very well with it. Of course, I am still hungry at times, but I am doing my best to stay on track! I love going for short walks and will need to find a home where some form of exercise is part of my daily regimen. I’m sure that I have lost a few pounds since arriving at Penny Angels, but I just haven’t stepped back on the scale again.
I am a very sweet girl that just needs to find a home with a person who will love me enough to take me for daily walks and keep me on a strict diet so that I can continue to lose weight! I really think that I will shine once I become a slimmer, trimmer version of my current self!! Would you benefit from having a walking partner? We could really motivate each other! Together we can become workout buddies and the best of friends! With each step I take now, I will imagine a better, healthier life in my new home! UPDATE 2-18-14: I have been in Rescue for over a month now and I finally stepped on the scale again! I must admit I was a little worried that my weight would be the same, but I actually lost 7.2 lbs. and now weigh 70.8 lbs.!! Even though I still need to lose a lot more weight, it is good to know that all my hard work is paying off!! I can’t quite see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I do know that I will eventually see it if I continue to stick with my diet & exercise plan! Now… back to eating some more green beans & kibble!! I am feeling so good about myself right now, I just might stop eating long enough to take your call!
