Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Amazing dog alert! If you are not in the market for the perfect dog stop reading NOW.
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID
JJ is an 8ish year old Lab mixed with who knows what; all we know is that he is 75 pounds of unending love and delight. This is one Dy-no-mite Dog!
This boy is very low key and not much (if anything stresses him out). He is extremely friendly with everyone he meets and is happy to just hang out with his people. He has a very calm demeanor and while he is really good with kids he needs kids old enough that understand not to pull on JJ’s ears..
When JJ was surrendered to a shelter in July 2013 after his owner passed away this boy weighed a whopping 110 pounds! The shelter workers did an amazing job in getting is weight down to a healthy range. We want to make sure that a new family keeps him at an ideal weight especially since he enjoys his naps. He is a low energy dog and doesn’t require too much, but he does need at least one good walk a day and a good diet (no free feeding) to keep his weight down.
JJ is great with other dogs of all sizes and he is not a “follower” meaning he does not appear to pick up other dogs bad behaviors. Heck he is living with 2 dogs that bark quite a bit and no one has ever heard JJ bark along with them. We have not had the opportunity to have JJ around cats but he is so low key and easy going our guess is he would be fine. He was recently at 2 events where he met all shapes and sizes of dogs and was perfect with all of them; though he probably wouldn’t put up with a puppy for long.
This sweet boy knows sit, come and down on command; walks great on a leash; is house trained, kennel trained and working on learning a dog door. He does not chew on things he shouldn’t, doesn’t dig in the yard and is perfect in the house left uncrated while you are not at home. Heck he even loves riding in the car.
JJ does have a chronic wax build up in his ears which if not cared for will create an infection. No one is sure why this build up happens but we are guessing it is allergies. He just went on Benadryl and we are working on ruling out food allergies. If his ears are wiped out a few times a week they are fine and should they become infected a course of antibiotics do the trick. JJ is currently on a joint supplement also as he has some arthritis in his hind quarters due to his having been so obese. But he still enjoys a nice walk around the neighborhood.
JJ is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He also recently had a blood panel done and he is in great health.
