Kitty Junction is so, so very happy to say that Checkers and Poppy have found their furever home with the only family that they have ever known!! After a year and a half of living in their foster home, their foster parents Brenda and Tommy could not imagine their lives without them. They have made their family complete and their other kitties and doggy brother Sammy just adore them!
Hi everyone! Our names are Checkers and Poppy and we are two super sweet 10 month old bonded kittens. We were both found in different areas of SW Philadelphia with not only horrific upper respiratory and eye infections but also multiple intestinal parasites. We were so, so sick our rescuers were afraid they were not going to be able to save us:( We spent the first two nights in the emergency hospital getting the life saving care we needed to survive. After three months of TLC and medications, our rescuers are so happy to say that we are not only completely healthy but thriving!! While we are not actually litter mates or related, we have become the best of friends as we recuperated together. We love to play together, sleep together and groom each other:)
Checkers- I am the sweetest and most affectionate all black male kitten who loves life. I LOVE to play and will follow you from room to room purring along the way:) I am the first at the door to greet you every morning just so happy to see you! I am an all around very happy, mellow, and laid back kitty.
Poppy- I am the sweetest and cutest little female tuxedo kitten. I am very small and petite for my age. I love to play and am just a little ball of energy. You will always know where I am as I LOVE to give little mews and chirps as I bounce around:) When I finally wear myself out, I will take a running leap into your lap and completely sprawl out. If you lap is not available, don't worry as I will also lay on your shoulders or your chest, anywhere that I can be as close to you as possible;) To thank you for petting me, I like to give you both kisses and tons of licks:)
Both of us while completely healthy, do have some residual eye scarring from our horrific eye infections. It is in both of our right eyes but does not affect our vision at all. It is just a small spot with slight discoloration, Poppy's being a little more noticeable than Checkers'. It will never get any worse and our vet believes that in time it may actually get a little better. Our foster mom believes that we truly are a match made in heaven both physically and emotionally. Because we are so bonded and went through so much together, our rescuers do not have the heart to split us up and want to find us a home where we can stay together! We are both microchipped and are currently fostered with a cat-friendly medium-size dog:)
