My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I am Mary and I am an extraordinary amazing beagle girl. Everyone calls me a real trooper. You see my story with Midwest BREW started after I was found as a stray in Ohio and I was at the shelter for a while. Midwest BREW saved me when the shelter contacted them because no one wanted me and it was time to make room for new dogs. They came to my rescue and gave me a second chance. They found room in their hearts for me—just the place I always wanted to be.

I am between 8 – 10 years old and sadly I haven’t had a good life and I am just learning about being loved and really taken care of. Part of this new life was going to the veterinarian. The vet discovered that I had a mild case of heartworm and some suspicious lumps. Before they could do any surgery, I had to be treated for my heartworms and the medicine is really strong. I had to be kept in a crate for over 5 weeks. My foster mom had to keep me really quiet and still. I really liked all the attention my foster mom gave me.

After my heartworm treatment, the veterinarian spayed me and removed some mammary lumps. The mammary lumps were benign so things were starting to look up for me. I then had my second surgery to remove a lump above my shoulder and two more mammary lumps. My foster mom was really celebrating with some other Midwest BREW members when the pathology report came back—BENIGN!! I have all my stitches out and there were lots of them and I am feeling better. I have a new life. Midwest BREW brought me this far. Now the rest is up to you. Do you have room in your heart for me? I have lots of life left in me for LOVE, LOVE, and LOVE. I am so happy to really live for the first time in my life and I like life now.

Yes, I have been through a lot. That makes me that much lovable because I really appreciate the affection and care that I am receiving for the first time in my life. Yes, I can finally say it is great to be alive. Midwest BREW brought that greatness to my life. If you are looking for an older, lovable, adorable beagle girl with beautiful golden eyes that melt your heart, that is me and my foster mom would love to talk to you. I am a fantastic lap warmer and a great companion. I will bring joy to your days and we can comfort each other at night. I am low energy, house-trained, and right now I am learning to walk on a leash. I can be in a crate as I was there for the most of 24 hours for 5 weeks. I prefer being by you, especially the lap. Well this is getting long but that is because I have a story to tell and my foster mom just can’t say enough wonderful things about me.

Do you have room in your heart for an extraordinary amazing beagle girl?
