My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I am Yeti! I am a two year old tail chasing ball of fluff and personality! I can't be more than 10 lbs and they think I am a Maltese and Poodle mix. I may be small but I am a big dog in a little body. I love to run around and play. I am great at the dog park and get along with all dogs, big and small, I would even love to go to doggy daycare if you have to work! I love to snuggle and be petted but sometimes I can be a little fussy so please be patient with me! The world can be a scary place and I need a human companion who can take charge and give me the boundaries and structure that I need. I am looking for an adult-only home please, as I am little and fragile and I like to be the center of attention. I would love to live with other dogs though! I may look like a stuffed animal, but I'm not and I need rules and limits just like any other dog. If you show me who is in charge in a loving and gentle way, I will be your devoted friend.

After spending some more time with Yeti we are seeing some behaviors that will need attention. He is small and cute but he is full of personality and he likes to do things on his own terms. He has to learn that he is not in charge and we are looking for an adopter who is willing to seek professional help with his training. He will sometimes growl and show his teeth when being handled, and he has been barking at strangers in the house. He is great out in public with all people that he meets. We think that he would do best in a quiet household with not a lot of visitors. As we spend more time with him we are working on finding out what his triggers are and looking into ways to deter this behavior and will update his profile as we learn more information.

If you are interested in finding out more about Yeti, please fill out an application. Yeti is being fostered in Holyoke.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
