I'm the cutest young Shih Tzu in the world! I am 1.5 to 2 years old and only weigh 7 lbs 11 oz. I love to sit by you and give you kisses. I'll follow you everywhere you go so that I can see what you are up to and make sure you aren’t lonely. You can depend on me to be your best friend. I am one very social guy and have never met someone that didn’t fall for my charming personality. If you are looking for a wing man I’m your guy. And boy do I love road trips!
While I really love people I do like my personal space and will nip at you if you get to pushy with me to soon – yep my Fuzzy Pawz foster mom found that out when she tried to clean my eyes after we had only known each other for an hour. Guy’s gotta have some space to figure you out before you go messing with him. I admit that I was given up because my original people said I nipped at the kids; but I have not done that while with Fuzzy Pawz and I even played really great with some kids since then. I think I’d be fine living with kids 8 and older that know to not push my buttons too early in the relationship.
Don’t let my small size fool you I'm tough; sometimes too tough for my own good as I try to straighten out dogs older and bigger than me. Mostly I win, but not always. I've got my 14 lb foster brother buffaloed, but there was this 14 year old dachshund . . .’nough said. Don't get me wrong I like other dogs and like to play with them, a lot. Sometimes I just need to let them know I'm in command of the household. Cats however -- they are just around to chase.
I know how to come when called, but I'm not 100% house trained yet. I think now that I’ve been neutered the house training and picking on the other dogs once in awhile will be much smaller issues. I like to ride in cars, but want to get out at every stop so you need to tether me to the seatbelt until I learn how to stay in the car when told. If I get bored, I will try to find a way out of the yard. Small spaces are excellent to squeeze through!
I really am a lovely and lively young man; I just need an owner to provide structure and who will help me be all I can be. As with many small, cute dogs, I developed a bit of little dog syndrome and often think I’m in charge when really I’m not. I already have a head start on good manners, and with a little help I can be the best little buddy in the world.
In order to keep my good looks I will need grooming every two months. Oh yeah and my foster mom is working on leash and crate training with me.
I really hope you will forgive my quirks and want to add me to your family; I’m a good boy and can be a GREAT boy with a loving family.
