Roxy's Story...
This beautiful girl is looking for a new home/foster home! Roxy is a sweet, very gentle, laid back 7 year old Great Pyrenees. She wins over the hearts of all around her, even non-dog people. Roxy loves the outside in the winter and acts like a puppy when it snows. She runs, jumps and rolls all around. She loves to play chase with people and eat snowballs. In the summer she prefers to stay inside; laying on the air vent, stealing all the AC. She is always up for a walk or trip in the car. She enjoys hikes if it is not to warm (and will try to sniff everything she passes).
Inside the house she will just lay around napping (most of the time, in front of a door “protecting” you) and be a giant pillow to hug and love on (you can lay all over her without so much as a sigh). She loves to look out the window to keep watch, but know, she will bark (with a tail wagging of course) at people who come to the door or walk past the house. Roxy is house trained and knows tons of commands. She is great with cats and with older children (age 8+). We feel that she needs to be the only dog in the household. Roxy enjoys the dog park, meeting dogs walks and hikes but has jealousy issues within the house. She becomes protective of her people, food and love.

We are looking for someone with a fenced yard and lots of love to give! She is a wonderful dog who deserves the best! If you think Roxy is a good fit for you please complete our adoption application at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Boulder Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Boulder, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Boulder.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boulder already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boulder breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boulder paves the way for another one to be saved.
