Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Who needs a new best friend & hiking buddy?!
FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID
Shadow is a wonderful companion who wants nothing more than a tennis ball to fetch and a scratch behind the ears. He is a dream on and off leash for those great hikes in the foothills.
This beautiful male black lab and is 8 years young. He spends his days curled up at his foster mom’s feet while she works, chasing the tennis ball for the kids and watching his young human’s baseball practices. Although Shadow prefers adults, he is great with kids of all ages and has been thoroughly tested and used as a pillow at his foster home with kids as young as 2 1/2. This boy is so patient!
Shadow has some manners in place and loves to go for a ride in the car...just don’t leave food in there...he can’t resist! Shadow has some separation anxiety, but does well when kenneled (treats help!). This guy tends to be a counter-surfer (so far, just bread!) but he does not beg or steal food from the kids. Shadow does not jump up on furniture and sleeps on the floor right next to his favorite human. He also is very polite when meeting new people; he doesn’t jump or lick, he just sits and waits for his petting! He's not very interested in toys except tennis balls, and will leave the kids' toys and stuffed animals alone.
While he may be 8 years old he has lots of pep in his step and he still loves to go for walks and get some exercise. He has some manners in place, walks nicely on leash and is housebroken. This sweet boy is very good with other dogs, but no cats please.
Shadow was part of the Paws for Life program, where he was adopted from a shelter and used as a blood donor at a local veterinary hospital. He is now ready to find his forever home, and we hope he doesn't have to wait long! Shadow is an all-around great dog, and a canine hero, and is deserving of a great life in which to spend his golden years.
