My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Caldwell, ID

Brody is a 2 year old smooth coated Piebald mini Dachshund, he weighs 12 pounds. Brody is housetrained, dog door trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. He likes to go for rides in the car but is a bit nervous to start. He shakes for a little bit but then settles nicely. Brody loves to be cuddled and get tummy rubs. Brody is great with other dogs and likes to play fetch. Brody loves to play chase with the other dogs in the house and will let the little female Dachshund in the home wash his face. Brody loves everyone in the house but is bonded mostly to whomever is his primary care giver.

Brody came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescues after he found himself in a shelter and was not doing well with all of the noise and commotion that goes along with a shelter setting. He seems to be used to a house hold setting and adjusted to his foster home quickly.

Brody loves to chase the squirrels in the yard and will stand guard to keep watch until the squirrels are brave enough to come back into the yard again. He does loose interest after a while and will move on to other things.

He has a low to medium prey drive most likely would not do well with a cat unless it was bigger than he was for fear of the swat.

Brody has a great personality and is full of life and happy tail wags for you and he just wants to be your friend and be loved. He is a hound and does let you know when someone is at the door and close to his yard. He barks to alert you but quiets down with a verbal correction nicely.

Brody would do best in a home with kids over the age of 8 years old as he is a Dachshund and will require a household that will have the understanding of the importance on how to pick a Dachshund up and not to let him jump off of a bed or couch or anything with height to it.

Brody loves to be with his human and would do best in a home where he had another dog to keep him company or a human that is home during the day.

Brody would be a great travel companion for a retired couple in a RV or, an active family that likes to camp as he loves to be outside and to go for a walk, he is little but loves to be active.
Brody is neutered, current on shots, microchipped and just had a dental done.

If Brody sounds like a good fit for you please go to http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/and fill out the adoption application for him and his foster mom will get back to you.

Brody’s adoption fee is $40 plus the cost of his vetting.
