Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Burt is the pup you want to have around! Burt, at just about a year old and approximately 11 lbs, is initially shy...then the most bonded and loving guy around. He enjoys his time with his foster mom so much that he joined her in the shower...a great way to get him squeaky clean! This incredibly adorable guy exudes love and loyalty...and it's catching! Burt's tough early life has left no visible scars on the personality of this super-devoted and sweet pup. His bond to his people leads us to believe that Burt would be happiest in an active retiree's home. He would blossom with the time and attention that this type of family would offer. Burt is also so portable at just 11 lbs that he is able to accompany his family just about anywhere...be it under the seat on a plane or riding shotgun in the car, Burt is ready and willing. He is a welcome guest in every situation...his joy starts with his helicopter- wagging tail and works its way to the smile on his cuter-than-cute face. Watch out - before you know it, he's crept into your lap and snuggled up to spend time together. Say the word WALK ...or simply PLAY together...and Burt is all over it... off he'll go in anticipation of not only his adventure, but his interaction with loving humans and friendly smaller dogs - Burt has an amazing attitude for a guy from a scary Colorado shelter... but his great temperament saved this sweet guy. Burt would be very happy in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A beginning positive reinforcement obedience group class will create additional family bonding as well as promoting great behavior and confidence. Burt needs work on his housetraining skills...but with the consistency and patience he's never had before..he's already making great progress. Burt is a non-shedding (or a hair or 2 is possible) pup...he most likely will not shed with great nutrition and regular grooming. Burt is not appropriate for those with severe allergy concerns.
Burt is being fostered in Denver. Applications are currently being accepted and Meet and Greets being set up for this exceptional and very loving companion.
