My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there beagle lovers! I’m Darbie, an adorable, sweet and slightly pudgy beagle girl. I have a very easygoing and calm temperament. I am a little uncertain in new situations, but I’m friendly and just want to be loved! I have liked everyone I’ve met so far, including men, women, and also some small kids we met on a walk. I get along great with the dogs in my foster home…I just LOVE the male beagle here and follow him around giving him kisses. The crabby female terrier growled at me a few times, so I just walked away. I don’t bother her at all, and now she’s just fine with me. I have not been officially cat tested but I ignored the cats when foster mom took me to the vet. I do have mild skin and ear infections, but I take my medicines very well and these should be cleared up in no time.

Foster mom says I should tell you more about my many positive qualities. Well, first I know to go potty outside and have not had one accident in my foster home. I’m very quiet, the only time I’ve made any noise at all is when I’ve howled at my foster brother a couple times trying to get him to play with me. I am crate trained and I really love to sleep in there because there is a nice soft cushion and a blanket in there for me to snuggle into. I sleep in my crate all night and while my foster parents are gone, and I never make a fuss. I also ride well in the car….I just settle right down in my crate and don’t make a peep. Oh yes, and I have a very adorable snore. :-)

From Darbie’s foster mom: Darbie has been one of the easiest dogs we have ever brought into our home. She settled in immediately and I think would fit right in in almost any home. She has a super temperament, very laid back and easygoing. She is definitely a bit unsure in new situations (she played “statue” at the vet and needed to be carried in, lol) and she’s still not sure about taking treats from our hands. She will eat them from the floor now, however, which she did not do when she first got here. She is starting to show some interest in chewing on toys but hasn’t played with them a whole lot yet.

Darbie has had a lot of changes in her life in the past several weeks, and has really adjusted well to each new change. She totally just wants to be loved and petted, will come up to me over and over for more petting and stay put as long as she can convince me to keep it up! She is a super sweet little girl who will make a great addition to any family and who deserves a wonderful forever home.
