My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1. What is your name?
Scout

2. How old are you?
Right now I’m 3 months old, but I’m growing quickly.

3. What do you look like?
I am a blue and white pit bull. I had floppy ears as a little pup, but they keep changing on me…now one lies on my forehead!

4. What do you like to eat?
My foster mom has been feeding me the healthy kind of dog food for as long as I can remember, but the best days are when my foster mom gives me a chewy!

5. What kind of personality do you have?
I am a friendly, well-behaved pit bull. I’m still a pup, but I’m a quick learner and enjoy training. I have a lot of energy and enjoy any interaction with humans and other dogs.

6. Describe your perfect day
I love romping with my foster siblings or running around outside with my favorite toy. At the end of the day, I love snuggling until I fall asleep.
It doesn’t take much to make me happy, as I can have fun with almost any activity.

7. What is your favorite toy?
I love so many toys, so this is a hard question! I love squeaky stuffed animals the most, but I also like plastic toys and tennis balls. Really anything that I can chew on and run around with is my favorite!

8. Do you know any tricks?
I know how to sit and shake so far. I’m excited to learn down and master leash walking.

9. What scares you?
I’m not afraid of a lot of things, but some sounds or objects I’ve never seen before are scary at first. After I investigate them, I’m not scared anymore.

10. Do you like cats?
I haven’t met a cat yet, but they sound pretty cool.

11. Do you have any doggie best friends?
Yes, my foster sisters are my new friends. Since I’ve moved around a lot as a pup, I’ve met many doggie friends.

12. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I haven’t seen much of the world, but my favorite place in the world is in a loving home with some doggie pals.

13. How is your health?
According to my veterinarian, I am in excellent condition.

14. How long have you lived in your foster home?
I just arrived here from San Diego!

15. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with two foster sisters right now and the humans of the house. I can’t choose my closest companion; I love them all!

16. Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
When I am left alone, my foster parents put me in my crate. I have been crate trained for as long as I can remember, and don’t mind napping in there until someone comes home to play with me!

17. Where do you sleep?
I sleep in my crate next to my foster parent’s bed. I am so well-behaved (and exhausted) at night that I go right to sleep. I really don’t mind sleeping in my crate because it is filled with plenty of warm blankets and it’s my own special place!

18. What do you love about your foster family?
I love that my foster family is so understanding and dedicated to making me a happy and healthy puppy. They have given me loving companions and provide me with a beautiful backyard to run and play in.

19. What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
As a very little pup, I had some trauma that made me stay in the hospital for a few days. I recovered quickly, then lived with the veterinarian who saved my life. When I was ready to start looking for my new forever home, I went to Even Chance. I haven’t been here too long and hopefully will find my forever home soon.

Closing lines: Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for your and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
