My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penelope: 5-7 yr old female calico Ragdoll

This girl is a kitty lady of mystery. The first mystery I needed to answer was about her age.The shelter vet said she was 3 -4 yrs old and another who did a dental for her said said no,5 to 6 and a third who did blood work on her has said 8-9. So I have called her 5 -7.
She is clearly not a kitten or old and is healthy and fit.

You can see how beautiful Penelope is with her vivid colors and unusual markings. She has the long body of the ragdoll and blue eyes of course. But she is slender, under 7 pounds. She looks bigger than that with her full coat but I have now come to say she is a beautiful, healthy, naturally slender, medium small cat.

Before I worried "Is something wrong with her?" even though her appetite was great., her poop perfect, her hydration normal, she didn't vomit after eating. We have done a couple blood panels on her and all is fine including her thyroid values . Nothing is wrong; she is simply slender. So the vet finally convinced me she is a perfect girl and this is how she is and should be, healthy sleek, light, and beautiful. I guess I tend to be a worrier.

So who is she.? Well she is an easy cat. Good-natured. Companionable. Happy to see you. Not needing to be petted every minute. She would be fine at home all day waiting for you to get home. She tolerates other cats but does not need them. She knows calicos tend to be the princesses of the world and there is some of that royalty in her. Look at the photo of her sitting up so regally straight. I am not sure how she would do with dogs. She loves lying in the sun.

She is a very nice, gorgeous girl who will make someone a great companion as long as you are trainable.

She happily eats dry food and loves a variety of wet food . She wants pate one week and tender morsels the next. "Surprise me," she says. It is not a problem: just buy a few cans of different things so when she gets bored with one you can switch to another; that is what I meant by "trainable."

She is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
