Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Selena, who is happy to be a foster dog with Shih Tzu Rescue of MN, especially since she was found as a stray. The veterinarian who gave Selena her exam believes she is approximately 2 years old. Selena is a Shih Tzu mix, but has many characteristics of the breed; she is affectionate, playful, alert and loyal. Her longer legs make Selena taller than most Shih Tzu, so she looks graceful and elegant. Her coat is mostly black with some gray and white speckling. She has a happy, outgoing personality and enjoys meeting and greeting everyone, and she especially loves to go for walks. And she loves playing with toys! Selena is a well behaved dog and is quickly learning to listen and understand commands from her foster parents. She is trained to go on potty pads, but is also learning to go potty outside. Selena is a very sweet girl who loves to snuggle and give kisses, and at night, she curls up to sleep in her foster parents’ bed.
Selena is a very friendly dog and appears to do well with children, adults, and other non-aggressive dogs. We do not know her experience with cats or other animals. Selena would do best in a family with older, respectful children, and perhaps another small dog, or with an adult couple who are home a lot and can give her special attention throughout the day. Since she is still a young dog, Selena would also benefit from obedience training to continue learning good manners and socialization. Selena's adoption fee is $396.92, including tax. Her foster parents would like her adoptive family to live within 30 miles of the Twin Cities area. Her adoptive family is also encouraged to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota's annual reunion with Selena every year in June.
