Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick – well not really a candlestick, but Arthur is a Jack Russell Terrier so we are sure he could jump over lots of stuff.

Arthur is about 4 years old and for being so young he’s been bounced around a lot; he hasn’t really had the chance for a structure until lately. Arthur spent some time in lock up at a pound and then thought he hit the jackpot when he was adopted; sadly it wasn’t meant to be and he found himself back at the pound when his new owner passed away suddenly. He is now out of the shelter and in a loving foster home and is learning about stability, structure and love.
Despite all this bouncing around Arthur is great with people, he is a loving and very loyal companion. He bonds strongly with his people and will do most anything for them. He loves to lay on his fuzzy blankets by you and to get some cuddles at the end of the day. While Arthur is great with adults he doesn’t really have the patience for small kids so a home with no kids or kids over 12 would be best.
Arthur knows several commands and is eager to please. This boy is smart as a whip; is highly trainable and loves to work for positive reinforcement. The sky is the limit with this guy; he is willing able and eager to learn whatever you want to teach him. He recently spent some time with Shannon White Dog Training and within 20 minutes he was waiting at the door with strangers, walking perfectly on the leash and learned sit, down, shake, the works. Arthur is also house trained and kennel trained. He just needs a person in his life that will direct all that energy that is bottled into that little body. Arthur, like most Jack Russell’s is very intelligent, and if you don’t keep his life structured and give him rules he can become willful.
Besides being smart he also enjoys being active; he loves going on long walks and is great at entertaining himself with his toys and some good chew bones. He is a cheerful, merry, devoted and loving dog. He is spirited, obedient and amusing to be around.
Arthur Is fine with dogs as long as he's not overwhelmed and would do best with a more submissive dog housemate. No cats or other small furry creatures; as is true to his breed Arthur has strong hunting instincts (stronger than your average terrier) and should not be trusted with other small animals in the home.
Arthur is perfect for someone who wants and exercise buddy and is looking for a loveable and very devoted companion.
