Please Share ... Ferdie the Dog & Cat-Friendly Shar Pei-Mix Needs a Loving Home
Ferdinand is a handsome, calm, sweet and friendly, one-year-old, 48-pound, male Shar Pei-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Ferdie is full of kisses and tail wags. He is living in a foster home with four cats and two other dogs and he’s been fantastic with his housemates. He loves to snuggle on the couch and in bed with his human and animal companions.
Poor Ferdie was brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control when his human died. Ferdie had such bad entropion that he couldn’t even open his eyes. His eyelashes turned in and were rubbing on his eyes causing pain, infection and ulcers. Shelter staff assumed he was blind.
Luckily a caring volunteer offered to foster the blind dog. After a visit to a vet, and surgery, Ferdie can see! And, he runs as fast as a bullet.
Ferdie is currently enrolled in training classes with his foster mom. He knows the command sit and stay and is eager to learn more. He takes treats very gently from your fingers.
Ferdinand is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued dogs of We Luv Paws Shar Pei Rescue. To meet and possibly adopt Ferdie, please contact Carol at weluvpawsilrescue@yahoo.com or 773-772-9329. You can also ask questions by contacting his foster mom Brita at bee.morland@gmail.com or 773-428-7088. Ferdie is healthy, neutered, heartworm-tested, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.
