Petey's Story...
Petey is just bursting with love. He's a sweet, friendly and affectionate dog who loves to love. He was found wandering the neighborhood, lost and cold. We call him Petey. He is a very nice, friendly dog. He likes to lie down and sleep on your feet. He's just happy to have a warm place to rest his weary head and be loved and cared for. Petey loves to go for walks and have his ears scratched. He's being neutered soon and he's being cared for at the Bloomfield Township animal shelter. Please call 248-433-7757 to arrange to meet Sweet Petey.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to pawsforliferescue@comcast.net to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then you sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Troy, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Troy.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Troy already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Troy breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier rescue.
