My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 3/13/08: We learned today that Henessey passed away. We are deeply saddened that her last days and months were spent in an animal shelter, a terribly stressful and lonely place for any animal, but especially a senior. Henessey gave up and died of a broken heart. In memory and honor of her, we encourage you to adopt a senior pet or donate to a senior rescue. They're loving, deserving animals who are often overlooked due to their age, when really all they want is a safe, warm home and a loving person or family to care about - a place to rest their head and feel loved and cared for. Please help the seniors. They deserve so much better!

Our hearts just break for dogs like Henessey. She's a senior rottweiler mix who was abandoned. But she is SUCH A GOOD DOG! She's sweet and friendly. She LOVES LOVES LOVES attention and kisses. Henessey is so very affectionate and loving! She'll make a great companion for someone who wants a quiet, calm dog to be their best friend and share their days with. She is housetrained, mellow and kind. The vet estimates that she is about 8 years old. She has been spayed, had a veterinary physical exam, heartworm tested, fecal exam, da2ppl vacccine, bordetella vaccine, rabies, strongid, frontline/topspot, heartworm prevention and microchipped. Henessey is ready to go home today!

If a calm, sweet dog is the right pet for you, please contact us right away at pawsforliferescue@comcast.net. Show Henessey that seniors are not disposable. She's an amazing dog with a kind, loving spirit. She just needs someone to share it with. Please help her!

Hennessey has been fine with one or two older, calmer dogs but she is not really thrilled with energetic, jumpy dogs.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to pawsforliferescue@comcast.net to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then you sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
