Wilson's Story...
Hi it's me, Wilson! Boy that was close, BEAR just saved my butt from one of NC's gas chambers! Yikes! I am one happy boy, you see I was the official greeter at the K-Mart parking lot. Well that was until someone went and called the po-po on me and I was taken away to the pokey... Luckily the staff noticed my charm and called the folks at BEAR. A nice lady named Deb from Triple H dog rescue came and picked me up and took me to the vet where I lost my nuggets (I think you know what I mean). I wasn't too happy about that but hey, if it saves me from getting shoved in that gas box I am totally cool with it... I am a happy-go-lucky boy who will do well in a home with a nice female that is my size. But you know we have to meet first because I am a little fickle as to who I want to live with. I am a good-looking guy who has my pride ya know...! Oh, at the vet I did test heartworm postive but I have already started my treatment. Otherwise I am a happy-go-lucky fully vetted guy... Currently located in LaGrange, NC but will be heading north soon to be a Jersey Shore boy with BEAR..look out y'all! If you're interested in me, email BEAR

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilson, a Toms River Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Toms River, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Toms River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toms River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toms River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toms River paves the way for another one to be saved.
