Hello fellow doxie lover. My name is Harrison and a little bird told me you might want me to join your family. That's very exciting so let me tell you a little about myself. I am about five years old and as you can see from my photos I am as cute as a button. My foster parents tell me all the time what a good sweet loving boy I am. Early in my life I met some people who were not so nice to me and as a result I can take a little longer than other dogs to warm up to you and will be a little vocal when I meet new people. I am not good with kids as I can be possessive of my toys and blankets and snap at anyone attempting to approach me. Once I get to know you and trust you, I will not leave your side. I do take some extra attention when meeting strangers so would need someone willing to work with me. I love to snuggle up on the couch and am very playful and love playing with my toys. I get along well with other dogs but am a little obsessed with cats. I think I will do better in a home with another small dog to help me continue to learn; I am not really fond of large dogs. I am house trained and crate trained and sleep in my crate all throughout the night. I love going for walks which is helping me learn to walk on a leash. What do ya say? Wanna meet?

If you are interested in adopting Harrison, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to Harrison 's adoption fee is $300. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Harrison will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.

About DREAM Dachshund Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We envision a time when every dachshund in Georgia has a loving home for its entire life. We believe that the welfare of our companion animals is an indication of the health of our society. We see the current welfare of our companion animals as a disease. To treat the symptoms of this disease, we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dachshunds in need. To treat the causes of this disease, we educate the public on compassionate dog guardianship of any breed. We want to have a deep, direct impact in a limited geographic area, rather than a small impact in a large geographic area.
