My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Sundance Kid: 10 to 12 month old male Flame Point Ragdoll

First of all he is a gorgeous boy. WOW. Second of all he is a teenager. He is so full of life and energy sometimes he does not know what to do with all his exuberance. He wants to do everything at once. He wants to eat, play, explore and be petted all at the same time. So he is a goof ball and an entertainer. "Are you watching how silly I can be?"

Yes he disgraces himself occasionally since he is still learning his manners. He loves attention and he can make you jump by nibbling fairly gently on your ankle or arm to remind you you stopped waving the feather or petting him or whatever you were doing that he likes so much. He has a good, happy, loving heart and will grow into a great beautiful cat.. The flames tend to be mellow laid back cats so he will probably mature in that direction. He needs a home that welcomes a teenage cat and will guide him into happy adulthood. This is a stage all kittens go through; it is timely and proper. I am guessing Sundance has not been in an environment where his humans have paid appropriate attention to him.

This boy was adopted from a shelter just recently and brought to a home with a dominant young male cat (who weighed twice what he did) and that introduction ( however it was managed ) did not work well so he was, in a very short space of time, surrendered to us. His adopters didn't want to take him back to the shelter where he was miserable. We have seen Sundance be fine with other cats, male and female including a young bengal male. I would suggest putting him with another non dominant goodnatured cat. He also could be an only cat in an active energetic family with teenage kids. He is a good cat for an active family in general but not one with small children. Cat loving dogs, middlesized and up, would probably be great also though I have had no opportunity to see him with them. Ideally he has good energy to play with a dog.

Ragdolls are super sensitive cats and they do not take change well. They are slow to adapt. I am a long term Ragdoll foster mom and frequently my adopters come in saying how "mellow Ragdolls are"- and they can be- but they get very stressed out by change and bad situations like shelters.Young male Ragdolls take a bit of time to learn their manners and can play hard with other cats. This boy will continue growing in size until the middle of his third year. His former adopters took him to their vet who said he is definitely not over a year old.So as he grows his flame colors will darken a little and his fur lengthen as his body grows. He will be a middle sized cat. He is only 7.5 pounds right now-- he is just a baby .He will be someone's darling beautiful boy.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
