Hello Friends!
I'm Melody, a sweet, beautiful, friendly and bichon of two who loves all the things bichons love – like long walks, rides in the car, squeaky toys and laps (to sit in, of course.) Mom says I’m very, very smart and magical. Dad says I have a special ‘spark’ about me and that my spunkiness is adorable.
Did I mention that I love Mom and Dad - and get along well with the other furkids? Mom says I like to hang out with them – and see what they are going to do. I’m equally good, though, at entertaining myself and would be perfectly happy to be your one and only furkid. You see I have this favorite toy (it’s a tie-dyed loofah dog) and we go everywhere together. I can toss it up in the air and catch it – and also play tug-of-war with my toy – and Mom or Dad, of course. I put it down when it’s time to do the Bichon Buzz though ‘cause I get to going very, very fast!
When I first became a furkid, I was shy and afraid – especially around men and people I didn’t know. Dad says I’ve been coming out of my shell more and more every day. (Silly Dad, I don’t have a shell – I’m a furkid, not a turtle!) I think he means that I’m becoming more confident and things that used to scare me no longer do. He’s right ‘cause now I warm up to people much more quickly, since I know they will be kind and loving.
MelodyI’ve learned to walk well on a leash and go for one mile walks every day! There is no doubt that I am a great walking companion who attracts a lot of attention wherever I go. Mom says I know a bunch of commands, am a champion cuddler and I’m housebroken. At night (and sometimes during the day, too) I love to curl up in my crate, safe and warm.

PS The last groomer I went to gave me a bad haircut and shaved off a lot of my hair. (She thought I was a poodle – so you can tell she didn’t know much about bichons!) My Aunties are sharing my ‘before’ photos as well - so you can see what I will look like when my hair finishes growing back!
