Kelly was relinquished to a Virginia shelter when her family could no longer take care of her. This very sweet older lady has no serious health issues and has plenty of spunk. Kelly is however a bit overweight, so she has been moved to another foster home where her diet can be regulated.
Although Kelly has not been in her new home long, her foster mom has found her to be delight and she has fit right in with the resident dogs as if she has always been there. Kelly is housetrained, has excellent house manners, and walks well on a leash. So far, Kelly has shown no interest in toys, but lots of interest in wanting to be a lap dog and cuddle. She rides well in the car, but likes it better when she can see out of the window.
Even though she is overweight Kelly is quite active and likes to explore the big yard, even running around on her own. She and the older permanent foster in the home have already become friends, exploring together and sharing what interesting things each one finds.
Kelly would do well in a home with other dogs or even being the only dog. She is a sweet girl who just needs a family of her own, who she would be delighted to give kisses to as a way of showing her love. Kelly does have cherry eye which does not require treatment. She is on medication for slight heart murmur.
