Do you know what happens to extra Socks? Stray, lost, and mis-matched Socks get thrown away, or sit in empty corners, abandoned by their owners. That is what happened to Socks. Found as a stray, Socks came to the shelter in search of a home. Socks was adopted by a young couple who fell in love with her cloud gray fur and soulful eyes. However, they were not able to handle this complicated girl, and so she is back at POA- grumpy and sad and still looking for that forever home. Socks is not a match for every home. Perhaps because of her time as a stray, Socks does not like other cats and remains on high alert whenever another cat is in her territory. For that reason, Socks would do best as the only cat in the home. Socks wants love and affection, and will rub against you seeking to be petted. But Socks can quickly become overstimulated and may growl and bat your hand away, feeling overwhelmed. Socks needs an experienced cat person who is able to understand cat language, and is willing to be patient and to slowly earn Socks' trust and love.
