My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zeppelin, a dog who's overflowing with love and energy. This sweet and cuddly adult dog is a bundle of joy and fun. He's playful, always ready to fetch a ball or explore a new walking trail. His independence and curiosity will keep you entertained, as he's always up for a little adventure.

Zeppelin is also incredibly smart. He picks up new commands quickly and loves mental stimulation. His loyalty and friendliness make him the perfect companion for any family. With Zeppelin, you'll have a loyal friend who's always ready to brighten up your day.

He does however need to be the only pet in the household. No other dogs, cats or other small animals.

Adopt Zeppelin, and let his playful and loving spirit fill your home with joy. For more information on Zeppy, you can email Sam at Sam.reyes@poainc.org . If you live in CT and are interested in adopting Zeppy, please fill out an application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We do have a screening and application process. Protectors of Animals requires a veterinarian check before any adoption.

One of our experienced Placement Team members will meet with you and show you the cat, kitten or dog you are interested in, or will guide you towards cats, kittens or dogs that are appropriate for your home environment. We will discuss with you the background of the cat, kitten or dog and what special needs or requirements he or she may have. We will happily take the time to carefully answer any questions you have or discuss any concerns.

POA does not charge an adoption “fee.” It costs POA anywhere from $100 and $400, or more, per dog or cat or kitten to make them well and prepare them for adoption. We are an all-donation organization and we rely on adoption donations to help us continue our work. When you adopt a cat or dog, we will ask for a donation. Our adoption donation information can be found at our website at www.poainc.org.

More about this rescue

We are a NO-Kill rescue and shelter for cats and dogs.

POA was formed in 1975 to rescue abandoned, abused and stray cats and dogs. Today we are one of the oldest and most respected animal welfare organizations in the northeast. POA is here to stay! You will not find a more dedicated, experienced or thorough resource for improving the lives of Connecticut cats and dogs. We confine our focus to our home state because this is where our infrastructure and resources reside, as well as our leadership.
