Luna is a dog that makes us humans stop and think that we can learn important lessons from rescue dogs. Although Luna has been through so many difficult scenarios in her young life (just about 1.5-2 years old) she has risen up and has the most positive attitude imaginable! At only 9 lbs..Luna has the self-confidence and fun-loving nature to be overjoyed in the company of other dogs and humans (she has not been temperament tested with very young kids). This Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (or so we're told) is such a comical and endearing being. Her one ear up and one flopped over gives Luna a bit of a comical look- (We're sorry that the only photo available of Luna is in the shelter...matted and dirty. We will be receiving photos of a gorgeous, groomed Luna in the near future). She's so friendly and filled with a silly, playful nature that she endears herself to everyone she meets. Luna would love nothing more...with her social and engaging manner...than to be a constant companion. She's so portable (at 9 lbs) that she's perfect to bring anywhere that a small, endearing pup is welcome. She's a natural at her foster kid's high school ...she's becoming a regular at soccer and football games. Everyone loves her and she returns the devotion a thousand times over. Luna also enjoys running errands with her foster mom & dad (it did take a bit for her to bond and be comfortable enough)..she's so happy to greet everyone...no one is a stranger to this little girl. She rides shotgun and is a regular at the downtown pet supply store - she's pretty sure at least a few treats will come her way. She does very well in most environments and is very flexible and low-maintenance at all times. Luna is independent enough to never overwhelm others with neediness...although a place on her favorite person's lap will literally make her smile. We are searching for a family who really wants the company...and accompanying responsibility...of a wonderful and sweet young dog. She would not be happy with long hours alone at home...Luna is a playful endearing girl that would be overjoyed with walks along beautiful Colorado paths and must be out & about to truly be fulfilled. That can mean the backyard time, a trip to a friend's house or some time at a park enjoying long walks and general dog-fun. In return...Luna will be the most devoted and loyal companion anyone can imagine. Luna appears to be a non-shedding (or maybe a hair or 2) girl who would require brushing/baths and great nutrition to keep her lovely coat cotton-soft and matt-free.
Luna is arriving in Denver on transport on 6/6. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and very sweet family companion.
