My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor little Pugsley has had a rough life and he deserves SO much better. He was abandoned at a vet hospital by his owner. A vet tech took him home after three months and gave him to her mother, who has since moved in with her alcoholic father. The father is mean to Pugsley and for Pugsley's benefit, he needs a home where he'll be safe, loved, cherished as a beloved family pet. He's a very nice dog. He gets along well with other dogs once he gets to know them. He's not too good with cats though. Pugsley is housetrained and crate trained. He walks well on leash, but does like to bark at other dogs when out on walks. He listens pretty well and knows behavior commands, like "sit" and "come." Pugsley does like to play when he's not sleeping or sharing affection. His favorite things are sitting on laps, cuddling, playing a little bit with other dogs and snuggling under his blanket. He likes to play with his pull toy and will fetch and bring it back.

Pugsley weighs just 19 pounds. He's a very lovable small dog. He has his quirks but we all do. Pugsley would be happiest in a home with an older couple/person or with a family with older kids. Little kids and all their noise are too much for Pugsley. He just wants a warm lap and loving arms - someone who will love him for life. Please call Susan at 248-219-6087 right away of you'd like to meet sweet Pugsley. Or email pawsforliferescue@comcast.net.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to pawsforliferescue@comcast.net to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then you sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
