Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oh baby do we have a treat for you!!
FOSTER LOCATION: Ontario, OR
This big, beautiful boy is 6 year old Lab Ollie. Despite being 6 he is nothing but a big happy go lucky puppy at heart; with all the joy and exuberance that comes along with that.
Ollie is a very active dog and will need the same in a family. He currently runs almost every day with his foster mom and they play fetch every single day. Ollie will need someone who is willing/able to keep up with him – this is no dog to keep just in the backyard – he needs to exercise both his body and his mind. Now that isn’t to say that he is a crazy pants, naughty boy; nothing could be further from the truth. Ollie is good in the house and knows to be calm and sweet; though in his quest for loves he may climb in your lap.
Ollie is really good with people and just an absolute joy to be around. He is good with kids and is living with an 8 year old who he really likes playing with. However due to his size and zest for life we require no kids under 6. He is a huge fan of belly rubs from anyone who will oblige and be warned he is a kisser!
Ollie is great with other dogs but can get really excited when meeting a dog for the first time; which can cause other dogs to have a negative reaction to him. He has what we call “poor greeting skills”; he’s all about “come on let’s play” rather than taking a minute to get to know each other. With a bit of training and more socialization this will go away (we can offer guidance on this).
He walks on a leash fine with no pulling, but should be walked by an adult as he likes to try to run up to dogs and play if he does see one. And did we mention he likes to RUN with you – he’d be a great biking partner also. He is not much of a barker unless you have been gone all day and he is excited to see you, but it’s just a happy I really, really missed you bark. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, move, and lay down. He is also house trained and kennel trained (though he doesn’t like the kennel much).
Ollie is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
There is a $40 adoption fee.
