My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Happy summer beagle lovers! My name is Franklin and I hail from Perry County, Ohio. I’m about 18 months old and 30 lbs. or so and I have an adorable under bite that makes me look extra cute. And did I mention that I’m full of energy? Oh and the best squirrel and rabbit sniffer around, so if you are looking to rid your yard of annoying pests, I am the pup for you. I don’t actually hunt them, but I sniff them out in a very professional and efficient manner. Then, I bark and lunge at them, so while I’m very good at locating the beasts, I assure you that I’m much too loud to catch one. They hear me coming for miles!

My foster mama says I’m a love bug who loves to snuggle with humans and other dogs. I even rest my head on other pups while standing up! It’s tiring being so cute. And my mama actually caught me falling asleep while standing on my back legs getting a belly rub from my dad….I’m a silly pup! I’m unusual too because I don’t seem to mind water much. We have a kiddie pool in the backyard with water to make sure the pups and I don’t get too thirsty and it’s nothing for me to climb in. I haven’t laid down in it yet, but my mama won’t be surprised if I do one day!

I am a bit bossy, so if you bring my home to another dog, the resident pup is either going to have to be really mellow or put me in my place pretty quickly. I respond well to praise and gentle squirts from the water gun, and foster mama thinks I’ll be better in a house with fewer dogs. There are 4 more besides me and I just want to make sure I’m higher up in the pack. I also mark in the house because there are other boys in the house, but I’m getting fixed really soon, so everyone hopes that is going to get better quickly. I’m a digger sometimes too, so mama puts me on a tie out with a harness to keep me safe, but I’m getting way better about that.

While I have a few quirks, I love humans and other dogs and I’m going to make a family a wonderful companion. I’m playful and loving and can’t wait to find a loving family. If you are interested in an adorable pup, give Midwest BREW a call….thank you and AROOOOO
