My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Forest was in pretty rough shape when he came to Midwest BREW. He had a cherry eye and heartworm disease, and his ears were all crusty and hairless. His eye has been fixed, he’s been treated for heartworm disease, and his ears are healthy although it’s taking a little while for the hair to grow back.
Forest is a very social guy, and walks can take a long time not only from the sniffing but also meeting every man, woman, child and dog who crosses his path. He enjoys visits to a nursing home, although after one pat he’s on to find the next person to meet so he doesn’t spend a lot of time with each one.
At home, he’s my shadow and goes everywhere with me. If the door is shut, he’ll wait outside of it. His least favorite thing is being alone, so he’s hoping to find a forever home where someone is home most of the time and/or has other dogs. He gets along well with everyone.
He had a bit of a housetraining set-back while being treated for heartworm disease because the medicine he had to take made him very thirsty and what goes in has to come out, sometimes without warning. Now that he’s off that medicine, he’s been very reliable. He does come and tell me when he needs to go out, but since he’s always coming to tell me something, sometimes his signal is missed. He did take to the doggy door like a pro so we think he may have used one in the past.
He has run of the house and doesn’t chew or dig outside. Forest is a gentle sweetheart of a beagle. Please consider him if you’re in need of some unconditional love.
