My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These two sweethearts are littermates, born May 11, 2007. Nina is smaller than her brother, weighing in at 13 pounds, whereas JJ weighs 22 pounds and stands quite a bit taller than Nina. Their owner was heartbroken to give them up, but her failing health kept her from caring for them as she would like.

Both are really loving fluffs, wanting nothing more than to be right next to, or preferably on the lap of, their human. We were told that Nina was fearful of her owner's 4 year old granddaughter, but she hasn't shown any fear of our grandkids, although they are, with the exception of an 8 month old, all school age--6, 10, and 12. Even the 8 month old in his very noisy exersaucer doesn't seem to faze her, and when he's on the floor playing, she loves to try to give him kisses. Actually, Nina and JJ both love to give kisses and are very affectionate.

Both of them learned to use the doggy door in about a day and a half, and are well house trained. They have a crate and will sometimes go in to sleep, but normally they want to be wherever we are. They were unfamiliar with cats when they arrived and we have had a little bit of an issue with barking at and chasing our kitties. We have been working on this and it has gotten somewhat better. JJ also barks some, but we have been working on this, too, and he has improved a great deal. They play very well with our dogs and really enjoy our yard. They didn't have a fenced area in their previous home, so had to be on a leash at all times when outside. I think our big fenced yard is a real treat for them. JJ will run off if he manages to get away, so he needs some work on that. They would love a home with a nice yard and lots of toys.

JJ has an allergic reaction of some sort when groomed, so takes medication the day of a grooming session and the next day as well. They both get bathed with a special shampoo, JJ because of his allergy, and Nina because they snuggle and lay all over each other. Walking on a leash is not a problem and they like riding in the car, as well. They are ready to go make someone really great companions.

They are being fostered in MO
