Mimi's Story...
AUGUST 20, 2014: Little Mimi is a Mexican Hairless Chihuahua. She came to us from a home with 2 large dogs who the owners felt would injure her again. Her front left leg is amputated (6 months ago) but she does very well getting around and playing with our small dogs. If she is outside, she must wear a tee shirt and be doused with sunscreen. She loves to be held but shouldn't be a pocket pooch. She is very quiet and affectionate.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Arenas Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Arenas Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mexican Hairless/Toy Fox Terrier breeders who help with Mexican Hairless/Toy Fox Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Arenas Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
