My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE- Lala had what turned out to be a very complicated surgery 9/8/14, but is resting comfortably ...when the vet opened her up they found TONS of tiny bladder stones and sand throughout her body. She had a huge clump of sand fused to her intestines that was very difficult to remove, and had likely had her bladder rupture at some point previously due to a trauma (hit by a car, kicked, ???) but then healed itself and new large stones formed. The vet was shocked that she had survived this long without medical intervention and had done as well as she had for so long! She's still not out of the woods yet but we are hoping she will make a full recovery without any further complications and we are awaiting test results for more clues on what caused her unusual issues...

We are still in desperate need of donations to fund her medical care! Please donate on our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com

LaLa is an adorable 4-5 year old shih tzu with one blue eye surrendered because her owner could no longer care for her. She is timid but sweet and cuddly once she warms up, and obviously been neglected for a while. She was loaded with fleas and suffering from skin and ear infections. He nails were very long and one was actually curled into her paw pad which must have made walking very painful. She was straining to urinate and in pain, and x-rays revealed 3 HUGE bladder stones which must have been causing her a lot of discomfort and made going to the bathroom difficult. She's been deflea-ed, had a medicated bath, started on antibiotics and is at least clean and a little more comfortable now, and will be having her surgery on Monday to remove the stones. Please consider donating toward her care on our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com. We took her in not expecting such major medical expenses but are glad she found her way to us and will finally be able to get the medical care she needs!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
