Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cobalt, or Coby as we affectionately call him, is a 4 month old, blue-brindle male pit bull available for adoption from Long Way Home. Initially found as a stray and brought to a local shelter where he sat uncomfortable in an outside run with a rather nasty secondary skin infection, this poor boy's future did not look so bright. But with the help of some awesome networking and fantastic pledge drive, we were able to pull this boy to safety! Coby is a very happy boy who LOVES to play and cuddle with people. He is good in his kennel and is working on his potty training - although he is doing rather well. For more information on adopting this gorgeous little boy, please email stephanie@mylongwayhome.org - thank you!

We ask for a minimum donation of $200 to adopt. This donation allows us to provide care to our sanctuary animals whom otherwise would be euthanized. Our Sanctuary maintains a caring, nurturing home life for pets deemed "unadoptable" or who have been diagnosed with a chronic or terminal illness. We create a safe, structured environment for the remainder of their lives, because every companion animal deserves a final chance to give and receive love.
With your donation, your future rescue dog will be:
1. Spayed or neutered.
2. Microchipped.
3. Current on rabies, bordetella, distemper and parvo vaccines.
4. Heartworm tested and current on monthly heartworm prevention. If they tested heartworm positive, they will be current on treatment.
5. Flea free and on monthly flea prevention.
6. Dewormed.
7. Provided with a lifetime guaranteed collar and leash from Lupinepet.com.
All of our rescue pets live in foster homes. Foster parents find out what the animals like or dislike, what type of family structure would serve them best, and which home environment would allow them to flourish. Because we have this information, Long Way Home does not use a âfirst come, first servedâÂ? approach. We evaluate all approved applications based on what would be the perfect home for each particular animal based on their own unique personalities and needs. We are pleased you have chosen to adopt your next companion animal and honored that you have selected a Long Way Home rescue to become part of your family.
