Dutch's Story...
Can you believe this handsome guy Dutch is still with us? He came in back in December of 2006 with some of his kitten siblings. Dutch was adopted out for a short time, but he just couldn't get used to the dogs in the home so he came right back. We are naturally, looking for a home for Dutch with no dogs, but he gets along just fine with other cats and people of all ages. Dutch is a little over 10 years old now and is a sweet and mellow guy that spends his days lounging and relaxing in our free-roaming area. He is still so spunky and fun loving, and always up for romping around with a good friend. Dutch just loves visitors and would transition so easily into a good home. While we love having Dutch as part of our family, we would love even more for him to get a home of his own, with a family that he can snuggle up with at night. If you give him the great home that he's dreaming of, he'll be your best friend forever! File#18963 12/16/06

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dutch, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
