My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rawlin may not look like much in his shelter pictures but he is a true rags to riches story! On the Fourth of July, DREAM received an urgent plea from an Atlanta shelter. The shelter was full and poor little Rawlin was overlooked because he was soo scared and would just hide in the corner. DREAM stepped in and saved the day! Two days after getting to his foster home he broke with parvo and was rushed to an emergency vet for treatment. Now Rawlin is completely healthy and ready to complete a family!

He has been the perfect little house guest. He is housebroken and loves everyone! He has earned the nickname "Mr. Snuggles" with his foster family. He does great with dogs of all sizes. Rawlin's only request is that there are no small children. Rawlin can be defensive over his food and treats. His foster mom and dad are working with him and he is doing great! Don't miss out this little gem. He looks like a standard wired-hair dachshund. He is a young energetic guy and ready for his family!

If you are interested in adopting Rawlin, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Rawlin 's adoption fee is $375. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Rawlin will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
