My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you like tall, dark, and handsome males like Rock Hudson? How about rugged but gentle? Then you need to meet Rock. Rock is a super sweet, gentle soul. He was found on a busy road by a good Samaritan who had been out trying to catch another street dog. When she saw Rock, she stopped and he came right to her. Rock is a senior who is about 10 years old. He was very skinny when he was found but he has fattened up to a good weight of 70 lbs. Rock gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He loves people and enjoys attention from his person. We think Rock spent most of his life on concrete because he has calluses on his bottom and his elbows. His front teeth are also ground down to nothing which we think comes from chewing on a chain or rocks. It's obvious from looking at him that he has had a hard life, but you would never know it by his sweet, gentle, loving manner. Rock would love to spend the rest of his life in a calm, loving home with a family who cares about him.

We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
