COURTESY POST
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Wow, gorgeous and handsome instantly come to mind when looking at this Lover Boy. Oh yes, he is that too, in spades. Pele is a cuddler. You can just see how loving and affectionate is when you look at the pictures of him and his girlfriend, the pretty Gummy Bear.

I am sure his future adopters would appreciate a little history on Pele, so here it is. His current owner rescued a little kitten named "Squirt", who was living with a nice couple and many large dogs. One of the owners was allergic to little Squirt and had to give him up. The poor little guy was so timid. His current owner recalls him hiding behind a dryer when she went to pick him up. The original owner put the little frightened guy in a brown paper bag and gave him to the new owner. It took many days for Squirt to feel comfortable enough to come out from under the bed where he hid all the time.

With lots of love and patience, he finally started coming out of his shell. He has a tiny little squeak of a voice, but soon let his personality shine. He loved to play fetch with his little foam soccer ball. “Squirt” was no longer fitting, so they tried out the name “Pele”, (after the Brazilian soccer hero), and it was immediately fitting! He soon became an avid soccer player and lizard hunter!

Back to current day. This handsome boy often poses in the most precarious positions (i.e., spread out on his back with his head over the edge of the couch or bed). He loves to be combed, and will head-butt you lovingly when you pet him.

Pele is fixed and declawed in the front. Despite being declawed, he loves to go outside and can climb. Pele, in particular, loves to roll around on the patio. So a fenced in yard where he can’t escape might be an option, but we typically prefer kitties to stay indoors only.

Pele loves a warm bed or couch at the end of the day. He need lots of love and attention and he loves to play with his kitty friend.

Pele is fostered in Concord, CA. Special Adoption Fee.
