In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!
Hannah is a beautiful alert seven-year old, 15-pound Shih Tzu. She is doing very well after having an unhappy past, and is now a friendly, lively girl. Since coming in to rescue, Hannah has surprised her foster parents with her cuteness and eagerness to learn. Hannah is lean and strong, and has silky black and white fur with gray flecks. She is housebroken, loves to go for walks, enjoys sleeping with her foster parents, and is content to nap most of the day in her bed or anywhere near her foster parents.
At one time, Hannah was loved. Then something in her life changed and she was surrendered to a kindly country veterinarian for euthanasia. She had been severely neglected and had infections, abscessed teeth, and an eye so infected that it had to be removed. The veterinarian realized that with treatment, Hannah, could still be happy and active. He treated all of her health issues and then asked that our rescue take her and find a loving home for her.
Hannah is now fully recovered and is a happy, friendly girl. She has adjusted to the loss of one eye and it doesn’t limit her activities or watching the squirrels and the rest of the world through the window. She loves to be with her foster parents, and is cuddly, and loyal. She enjoys learning new things, is eager to please and she has wonderful house manners. She would do best with mature adopter(s) who have no small children living in the home or visiting, and where she could be the only pet. A fenced-in yard would be desirable, but not required. Hannah just dearly needs someone to love her and care for her.
Hannah is in good health, spayed, had a dental cleaning, is current on vaccinations and is microchipped. Hannah’s adoption fee is $220.00 plus sales tax. Her foster parents would like her adopters to live within a reasonable driving distance of the Twin Cities and they are also encouraged to attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in June.
