This sweet and lovable little guy is Luka, a 6 year old shih tzu that is ready for a great home of his own. Luka came to us from our Newark facility in such a sad state. Little Luka was found as a stray and had a severely injured front leg that was never taken care of. Luka broke his front leg and since nothing was ever done for it in his previous home, his leg was distorted, dragged on the ground, and caused him a great deal of discomfort. Luka also had a terrible upper respiratory infection but once he was treated and cured, our veterinarian performed surgery to amputate the front leg. Luka is like a new pup now! He is so happy and it's obvious that he feels relieved to be rid of the painful appendage. Luka is a very outgoing and friendly little guy that just loves everyone he meets. Even when he was in pain when he first came in, he was still in good spirits and made friends easily. Luka is getting around just fine and he's trying not to let this slow him down. He enjoys playing and is even starting to run. Luka is ok with smaller, well behaved dogs but will need a home with no children under the age of 10.
